During my time in 2025, and in 2024, I have attended art galleries and expos, mostly with a friend, since my friend loves to attend certain expos. I originally went in January to the Anime LA Event with a friend for fun, but I’ll let you know what happened. We arrived pretty early, and it was relatively packed, as an expo would be, but we met some incredible people over there, passionate fans, cosplayers, and some artists/voice actors who attended for the content they worked with. My friend got a signing from some of the guest of honors, including Shinichiro Watanabe and Tomonori Kogawa.
We attended some of the showcase events for projects, which we got talk with some of the actors and ask questions about their point in the industry and some other relative information they would like to share in case of the experience of the project.
What I do plan for networking is to attend future Lightbox Expo, which I attended a couple years ago for my off-campus work as well. I plan on attending to get some networking information for potential work in the industry and get some insight about the projects, showcases, and pitches I could get for the future. Popular development executives for animation, especially from Warner Bros. Animation attend the event regularly, so it would be a missed opportunity to gain insight from them about what to expect and how to approach with deadlines and future pitches.
