As one of the art shows I would like to attend some point soon is an international travel for Annecy, France. It is meant to celebrate animation and also showcases many studios talents, including some studios I want to see for myself. As tickets and all the work for it comes around the beginning of June post-semester, I’d figure I would substitute it for something smaller and local. As for my last post, I visited an Anime Expo with one of my friends, which I still thought was an interesting experience nonetheless and helped me connect with some people and artists that appreciates the culture and process behind-the-scenes, even meeting some famous artists who work in the scenes and in Manga works.
For the following visit, I went to the Museum of Latin American Arts in Downtown Long Beach. Even though I didn’t meet many artists at the featuring exhibition I went to, but, I still learnt a lot from the presentations and interacting with the onlookers about their views and opinions of the work they are engrossing themselves into. The variety of on-going exhibitions in the museum makes you absorb some inspiration for artists who want to tackle with the mediums, like painting, digital, photography, graphic design, illustration, etc. Latin American artists have an interesting style and thought-process as I have involved myself in studying the artists behind them periodically to take inspirations for future projects in mind. I think personally connecting with the artists, since from what I heard, some still do attend and are open in their emails for connection, would be greatly beneficial to help understand them as artists and what drives them forward to further create better or more ambitious ideas.
